Chateau Lyonnat is a very old vineyard. In the 15th century it was a big estate: 100 ha and was then official wine supplier for the Vatican. It has been acquired by the Milhade family in the 60’s and became since then their flagship.

  • Vignification: Rigorous selection at ultimate ripeness - Sorting at the cellar - Alcoholic fermentation in temperature regulated concrete tanks - Short and frequent pumping over - Long maceration for excellent tannins extraction.
  • Maturing: 50 % aged in French oak barrels (1/3 new,1/3 one year old, 1/3 two years old) 
  • Ageing: 20 years
  • Tasting Notes: Colour: deep ruby Nose: warm Ginger bread, liquorice, red fruit and vanilla aromas Palate: powerful yet rounded and well balanced tannins Pairing: red meat, lamb, wild game and cheeses. Service: decant and serve at room temperature
